Theresa was born and raised on Long Island, NY, the third of seven children. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University where she met her husband, Greg. She worked for 10 years designing and building nuclear reactors for the US Navy at a manufacturing company in Pennsylvania. A job change for her husband relocated them to Illinois, and Theresa stayed home for several years to raise their growing family. When her oldest son started first grade, she felt called to volunteer as a religious education catechist, and discovered her love and desire to share the faith. She took on the part-time role as coordinator of the Early Childhood program, eventually working her way up to the job she now holds as Director of Religious Education. Theresa earned her Parish Catechetical Leader Certification through Franciscan University. She is also the parish VIRTUS administrator. In addition to her husband, her family includes three sons and one daughter, as well as a 3-year-old grandson.
My favorite part of my job is it gives me an opportunity to meet so many of our parishioners. Whether they are the children and families registering in our program, volunteers, or those I meet through interactions with other ministries, this job has helped me cross paths with some wonderful people.
