People with disabilities are welcomed to the spiritual and social life
of Ss. Peter and Paul Parish. As a parish community we strive to meet
the catechetical and sacramental needs of each person. Whenever
possible, children with disabilities are included in the regular
Religious Education programs. Children and adults with special needs,
whether it be physical, mental or emotional, will find the R.E.A.C.H.
program is structured to meet the needs of each individual.
Participants receive learning that is tailor made for them and an
experience of liturgy and community building. As a small faith
community, we follow the Liturgical Year, celebrate the lives of the
Saints, and the lives of each other. Preparation for and celebration of
Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation is also available to
each person as they are ready for those Sacraments.
Participants’ ages for the Saturday morning program range from age 6-18.
Currently the program lacks adequate volunteers, and so it is necessary
for a parent or other trusted guardian to attend with each participant.
We are hopeful that many more volunteers will come forward in the future
so that guardians will be free to make the decision to stay and attend
the classes with their children or drop them off and pick them up when
class ends.
We meet on Saturday mornings from September through
March on the same schedule
as the Saturday Children’s’ Ministry Schedule. See the
RE calendar.
Sessions meet in the lower level of Ministry Center, Room L24 from
9:00AM – 10:15AM
The Adult REACH program meets on alternate Wednesday evenings in room
L15. (At this time the adult R.E.A.C.H. program has been suspended
pending the return of their catechist. Please continue to pray for her
health and healing.)
The Knights of Columbus financially
supports this program as part of their dedicated work on behalf of those
with special needs.
