Junior
High Ministry
The Junior High School Religious
Education Program is designed to promote positive adolescent development and growth in
discipleship and Catholic identity within a youth-friendly community.
CATECHESIS / WORSHIP:
The junior high program will
be using the Faith and Life religious education series. The Faith
and Life series presents Catholic teaching using time-tested methods of
catechesis and faith formation. Correlated with the Catechism of the
Catholic Church, it features use of Scripture to complement the series’
presentation of Catholic doctrine and practices.
Eighth grade students will also use
Confirmed in the Spirit. This text will be used as final preparation
for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
CONFIRMATION:
Confirmation is normally
conferred starting in 8th grade. Prerequisite for this sacrament
during 8th grade requires regular attendance for one year prior
to being placed in a sacramental class. For specific
information regarding the Sacrament of Confirmation, see the
Confirmation page.
SERVICE:
Service to parish and/or
community is required of all students. A list of service opportunities
will be made available to all students. A minimum of 12 service hours must
be completed each year.
Information will be sent via
Constant Contact throughout the year as it becomes available.
