Adult Faith Formation 

Adult Faith Formation is SSPP's Religious faith formation program for adults. This group is part of the Education Commission. For more information - 718-2154.  

Altar Linen Launderers 

Clean and press linens used at Mass. Linen launderers are part of the Christian Worship Commission.  If you would like more information, please contact Barbara Bierbauer at 718-2159. 

Altar Servers
Boys and girls in grades 4 - 12 who wish to assist the priest in at weekday and Sunday Mass, weddings and funerals.  Altar Servers are part of the Christian Worship Commission.  If you would like more information or would like to become a Server, please click here.

Angelus Adult Choir
Sings at 9:30 AM Mass on Sundays and special Feast Days from September through May, with weekly rehearsals. The Angelus Choir is part of the Christian Worship Commission. If you would like more information or would like to become a choir member, please contact Tom Wibbels at 718- 2157.
Athletic Association
Organizes, develops and oversees all of the athletic programs at SS Peter & Paul School . The Athletic Association is part of the Parish Life Commission.  If you would like more information or would like to become part of the Athletic Association, contact Mike Chiarito at 355-0113.
A/V Library

The A/V Lending Library is open to all parishioners each Sunday from 9AM to 12:30 PM. It is located in the Ministry Center on the upper level, room 227.  Check out the selection of adult and children's videos and CDs. Baptismal Preparation
Prepares parents for the baptism of their child, enriches parents understanding of Christian community and deepens their faith commitment to better fulfill their responsibilities in having their child baptized. Bereavement
Provides prayerful support to parishioners when there is a death in the family. Our members try to attend wake service or meet family members at the funeral and express sympathy of the parish. Cantors
Cantors lead the singing of hymns and responses, as soloists, during  Mass. The Cantor program is part of the Christian Worship Commission.

Catholic Daughters of America
This group has a long history of service to the community and to the church. Their motto is "Unity and Charity". Catholic Daughters provide financial contributions to the church and various civic causes. This group is part of the Christian Service Commission. For 2005/2006 meetings will be held at the

Chamber Choir

Chapel Belles
The Chapel Belles choir  performs at special occasion Masses throughout the year. The Chapel Belles are part of the Christian Worship Commission. For more information, call Mike Acquaviva at (708) 955-3404.

Children's Liturgy of the Word
Children's Liturgy of the Word is an opportunity for children in Grades 1-4 to experience scripture and prayer at their age level during the Sunday liturgy. Their ministers, called Leaders of Prayer, proclaim the Sunday readings from the Children's Lectionary, break open the Word through guided reflection and dialogue, and pray. Leaders take children from the assembly after the Opening Prayer and return with them at the Preparation of the Gifts. Adult leaders and assistants are needed. Children's Ministry

Children's Ministry is SSPP's Religious Education Program for grades 1-6. This group is part of the Education Commission. For more information contact Deacon Ron Brown at 718-2153.

Choristers Children's Choir
Children's Choir that performs at special occasion Masses throughout the year. The choir is open to students is grades 3-12 and experience is NOT necessary! We'll be singing fun and challenging music once per month (usually on the 3rd Sunday of every month) and rehearsing every week on Monday evenings from 6:30-7:30 PM upstairs in the Ministry Center. Church Women United
This ecumenical movement of Christian women was organized for the purpose of witnessing to their unity and faith in Jesus Christ through worship, study, actions, celebrations and global relationships. At present, our local Naperville Unit consists of 24 churches, both Catholic and Protestant. This group is part of the Christian Service Commission. For more information

Communion for Edward Hospital Patients
Eucharistic Ministers distribute communion to Catholic patients on Saturdays and Sundays each week. Volunteers serve on a rotating basis. For more information, please Helen Kolar at 630-718-2155.

Communion for the Homebound
Eucharistic Ministers will bring communion to our parishioners who are unable to attend Sunday Mass. For more information, please click here or contact Helen Kolar at 630-718-2155.

Communion for Retirement/Nursing Home Residents
Communion visits are made on a regular basis for seniors who live at facilities within our parish boundaries.

Confirmation (Adult)

Contemporary Choir
The Contemporary Choir performs at Masses and on special occasions throughout the year. This choir program is part of the Christian Worship Commission. If you would like more information contact Doti Strenning at 718-2114.

Couples  Bridge
A card club for couples who enjoy playing Bridge and wish to meet fellow parishioners or renew old acquaintances. This group is part of the Parish Life Commission.  Call the parish office at 355-1081 for more information about the Couples Bridge Club.

Early Childhood

Early Childhood is SSPP's preschool and kindergarten Sunday Morning Religious Education Program. This group is part of the Education Commission. For more information contact Theresa Pratt at 718-2133.

Elizabeth Ministry  
A peer-to-peer outreach to women and their families during special times of motherhood. Their purpose is to affirm, support, encourage and assist women during their childbearing years. All ages of women help in this service. This organization is part of the Christian Service Commission.  For more information contact the Sarah at

Emergency Meals
Provides care for family food needs on a short-term basis, when the parishioner is unable to manage on their own. This group is part of the Christian Service Commission.  For more information or to offer to help,

Employment Ministry
This is a combined ministry with
  St. Thomas the Apostle parish in  Naperville. It seeks to help the unemployed and provide opportunities for education, counseling and networking. This group normally meets at St. Thomas the Apostle Church on the 4th Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM. This group is part of the Christian Service Commission. Eucharistic Adoration

Each week, over 450 members of our faith community come to the St. Francis chapel to spend an individual hour adoring the Risen Christ in the Eucharist.  It is through their personal sacrifice, commitment and faith that this perpetual ministry is possible. Extraordinary Ministers

Eucharistic Ministers serve as an example of service to one another. They symbolize, at Mass, the service each of us is called to do through our Baptism. Ministers are appointed for a period of 3 years.  Eucharistic Ministers are scheduled once every 3 weeks.  This group is part of the Christian Worship Commission.  For more information, contact Barbara Bierbauer in the Liturgy Office at 718- 2159. 

Funeral Choir
Sings at funerals held at SS. Peter & Paul, throughout the year. The Funeral Choir is part of the Christian Worship Commission.  For more information, contact Tom Wibbels at 718-2157.

Funeral Lunches
This service provides lunches for families of the deceased who are buried from our parish. Volunteers serve on a rotating basis. The food is catered and the committee is responsible for setting and cleaning up. This group is part of the Christian Service Commission.

Gardeners
Families, individuals or groups volunteer to help plant, water and maintain flowers and plants around the parish grounds. Click here for more information.

Hand Bell Ringers
Play hand bells for special Liturgies or Masses. The participant must be able to read music. The Hand bell Ringers are part of the Christian Worship Commission. For more information, contact Tom Wibbels at 718-2157.

Health and Services
This ministry is designed to identify and address the continuous needs of our parish families through health education, counseling and spiritual support by linking the needs of the whole person to resources and services within the congregation, community and the health care system. The parish Health and services coordinator will work with existing committees such as Pastoral Care and St. Vincent de Paul to address their immediate needs and augment their services.  This group is part of the Christian Service Commission. Hesed House
Started as a PADS facility in 1985 in  Aurora , Hesed House now serves as a soup kitchen, permanent PADS facility, transitional living community, interfaith food pantry and rainbow clinic. Our parish participates three to four times each year by helping prepare and serve a  noon meal on Monday and Friday. This organization is part of the Christian Service Commission. Home and School Association
Promotes a closer cooperation and communication between SS. Peter & Paul School and home, promotes quality Catholic education, and encourages high standards of family life. For more information about the Home and School Association, see SSPP Parish School.
 Journey Groups (Small Christian Communities)
Provide a means for a "journey" of community faith sharing, scripture study, prayer and outreach on a small group level. Junior High Ministry

Jr. High Ministry is SSPP's Religious Education Program for grades 7&8. This group is part of the Education Commission. For more information contact Theresa Pratt, 718-2133.

Knights of Columbus
The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic gentleman’s fraternal service organization that is committed to the exemplification of charity, fraternity, patriotism and defense of the priesthood. The Order is consecrated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, unequivocal in its loyalty to the Pope, firmly committed to the protection of life, from conception to natural death, and is dedicated to the preservation and defense of the family. The Order focuses on church, community, council, family and youth activities. This group is part of the Christian Service Commission. Knitters and Crocheters
Prayer shawls, lap blankets, infant caps and booties are knitted or crocheted with care for individuals who may need the warmth of God's love. Click here for further information and please contact Paulette at 718-2127 if interested in joining this group.

Legion of Mary
An association of Catholic laity who are devoted to our Blessed Mother and to serving the Church in almost every country. SS Peter and Paul Praesidium is "Our Lady of Sorrows". Lectors

L.I.F.E.

Loaves and Fishes
Works together with other
Naperville churches, schools and organizations to provide food to needy Naperville residents.  Normally, here at SSPP, we collect food and supplies the 3rd weekend of each month for Loaves and Fishes. M.O.M.'s
A social, spiritual and service organization of mothers of preschool children. Medical Drivers
Transportation services for SS. Peter and Paul parishioners who do not have transportation available to them for doctor or dental visits, hospital appointments or other medical visits. Learn more . . .

Mission Opportunities

Mission Sewing Group
For over 40 years, a group of women have sewn layettes, quilts and baby clothes for missions throughout the world. If you enjoy sewing, even simple sewing, please bring your talents and help this group. They meet on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday mornings 9-noon, September through May. Musicians and Vocalists
Those willing to share their vocal or instrumental talents for the musical prayer of the assembly at  Mass.   "Some musical ability is necessary but formal training is not required."  Musicians and Vocalists are part of the Christian Worship Commission.  For more information, contact Tom Wibbels at 718- 2157.

Musica Christiana
This ensemble is comprised of professional vocalists and instrumentalists from the Metropolitan area. They perform for the 11:00 AM mass in the church on the 3rd Sunday of the month. This ensemble specializes in the musical treasures of the Catholic Faith from the Renaissance period through the early 20th Century. Membership is by audition only. Naperville  C.A.R.E.S.

This is a grassroots organization of faith-based communities seeking to help those in economic stress who live in Naperville.  Volunteers are needed to help with various tasks.  Naperville C.A.R.E.S is part of the Christian Service Commission.  For more information, call Nora Jackson 718-2158 or Naperville CARES.

PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter)

Parish Nurse/Health & Services
Designed to identify and address the continuous health needs of our parishioners through education, counseling and spiritual support. Pastoral Care
Affirms the act of mercy dictated by Jesus Christ: to care for the sick, comfort the dying and be a beacon of encouragement, love and support to the parishioners of SS. Peter and Paul Church. Peace & Social Justice 
The purpose of the Social Justice Committee is to promote the social justice mission of the Church; to educate and inform our parish faith community on the issues of social justice based on the teachings of our Church and to encourage & inspire members of our parish to action.  This group is part of the Christian Service Commission. Prayer Network

PreCana Marriage Preparation
Helps prepare couples who are entering into marriage. Host couples share their thoughts and experiences on various topics such as finances, communication, marriage, children, family planning, stress, in-laws, intimacy and faith. People of Life

Rainbows
A support group for children who live in a blended/step family or single-parent family because of divorce or separation, or because a parent has died. RCIA
(Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)
The process in which one learns more about becoming Catholic. Through this program, the church shares its living tradition, its life, its values, its prayer and apostolic mission. Reach
Religious Education for children, youth and adults with physical and/or mental challenges is available for sacrament preparation, Bible study and faith sharing. Volunteers who can assist in this program are welcome and needed. During the school year, children's and youth programs meet on Saturday mornings; adults meet twice a month on Wednesday evenings. Sacristans
Clean the sanctuary and sacristies in the church on a rotational schedule. There is a major cleaning of the church in the spring and fall. This group is part of the Christian Worship Commission.  For more information, contact Rita Schmidt at 355-2740.

School Board
A consultative board which provides policy direction to the school administrator by formulating and adopting, but never enacting, policy. This board is part of the Christian Education Commission.  For more information, contact Frank Glowaty in the school office at 355-0113.
Scripture Study
Participants study and discuss the Sunday Readings and various Books of the Bible. Groups meet weekly from September through May on Thursdays. There is a morning and an evening group. Social Committee

Responsible for planning various parish social activities including the Parish Festival, Volunteer Appreciation Night, and monthly Welcome Coffees.  The committee is part of the Parish Life Commission.  For more information, contact the Parish Office at 355-1081.

String Ensembles
These groups perform monthly at the 11:00 AM mass in the church. The Young Strings perform on the 4th Sunday of each month and the Adult Strings perform on the 2nd Sunday of each month. These groups are part of the Christian Worship Commission. St. Vincent de Paul Society
Helps the poor and needy with assistance for utilities, rent, prescriptions, etc. The St. Vincent de Paul conference is independent but works closely with the parish to provide assistance to needy families in our community. If you wish to contribute to this worthy cause and help those in need that live in our community, please pick up one of the St. Vincent de Paul green envelopes in the back of the church and either drop it in the collection basket or leave it at the parish office. Sunday Morning Nursery
C
hildcare provided during the 9:30 & 11:00 AM Masses in Room L24 in the Ministry Center for children between the ages of 9 month and 5 years.  This group is part of the Parish Life Commission.  For more information, contact our nursery coordinator, Donna Widmann at 718-2165. 

Sunday Night Ensemble
These individuals meet weekly to prepare the upbeat music for the 8:00 PM Sunday mass. The group is part of the Christian Worship Commission and is under the leadership of Gary Gibula. For more information, contact him at (630) 212-7900.

Transitional Housing
Provides temporary housing shelter and support for a two year period through mentoring pre-screened families. With the help of Bridge Communities, assists the families to become self-sufficient. Ushers
Help at weekend Masses with seating, taking the collection, orderly reception of Communion, and distribution of bulletins. This group is part of the Christian Worship Commission.  For more information, contact Barbara Bierbauer in the Liturgy Office at 718-2159.

Vacation Bible School
VBS is a summer camp held during the summer and run through the religious education commission. For more information contact Theresa Pratt at 718-2133.
Visiting Friend
Special people who like to play cards/games, read, talk or just be a friend to our senior parishioners visit them at their home or in nursing homes. For more information, contact Paulette Shea at 630-718-2127.

Vocation Ministry
The Vocations Ministry is a group of parishioners that meet to encourage and promote vocations to the priesthood and a vowed life. The group is part of the Christian Worship Commission. For further information, please contact Ed Graham at 630-717-7853.

Web Site
Provides periodic maintenance to the already existing SS. Peter & Paul web page to further the communication efforts of the parish. For more information, contact Denise.
Wedding Hostesses
Conduct the rehearsal for the Friday evening and Saturday afternoon weddings. The hostesses return to attend the wedding as a representative of our parish family and to assist the wedding couple in any way they can. Welcoming Committee
The Welcome Committee is responsible for the registration and orientation program for new parishioners. The goal is to assist individuals and families to feel they are welcome and appreciated and are important to the parish community.  This group is part of the Parish Life Commission.  For more information, contact Rose Ann Bowers at 355-1081.

Young Adult

This ministry is part of a larger network of Joliet Diocese Young Adult Group, a Catholic community of young adults in their twenties and thirties. Current spreads the good news of Jesus by building a community of young adults that meets the social, spiritual, service and support needs of all young adults.

Young at Heart

An active group for our senior adults age 55 or better, with a variety of social and spiritual activities. A wonderful way to make new friends and have a great time. For more information click here or contact Helen Kolar at 718-2155.
